Q & A REGARDING THE NABF CLUB TOP TEN PROGRAM
WHAT SHOW VENUES CAN I OBTAIN TOP TEN POINTS FOR MY DOGUE THROUGH THE NABF?
The rules to it are very simple and easy to remember. Your dogue may earn Top Ten points through the NABF by being exhibited at any reputable show venue.
Examples of such are AKC, UKC, IABCA, RARITIES (now NAKC), DDBSA, EUROPEAN FCI (Not FIC), NABF events, Canadian DDB events and any smaller club shows
with judges judging who are licensed by any of the forementioned clubs.
WHAT DOES MY DOGUE HAVE TO DO TO EARN TOP TEN POINTS?
Your dogue must win Best of Breed WITH competition (competition consists of at least one other dogue than your own at 6 mos of age or older competing
in the breed ring). This is a requirement in order to earn one NABF Top Ten point per BOB win.
HOW MANY POINTS DOES MY DOGUE EARN PER BEST OF BREED WIN?
For each dogue who gets a Best of Breed win WITH a minimum of one other dogue over the age of 6 mos in competition, your dogue will earn ONE top ten point.
DOES MY DOGUE GET A POINT FOR EVERY DOGUE BEATEN IN THE RING?
Your dogue earns only ONE Top Ten point per Best of Breed win, regardless if there is 1 dogue or 10 dogues in the breed ring. Only ONE Top Ten point is
awarded per Best of Breed win with competition. Points are not awarded per number of dogs beaten like in UKC. That would be much too hard for the NABF
to track & verify, so the one point system is much more simple.
WHAT IF MY DOGUE IS THE ONLY DOGUE IN THE RING AND THERE'S NO COMPETITION?
If there is no competition, your dogue does not get awarded any TT point.
DO WINS IN GROUP COMPETITION COUNT?
No, Group wins do NOT count toward NABF Top Ten points. NABF Top Ten points are accrued for each Best of Breed win with competition IN THE BREED RING only.
Points are awarded for Best of Breed wins ONLY when competing with other Dogues de Bordeaux, not against Group dogs.
DO I NEED TO SPECIFY MY BEST OF BREED WINS FOR TOP TEN POINTS TO BE GIVEN?
Please make sure you specify on your winsheets (you may highlight BOB win and # of dogues in competition on winsheets) to the Conformation Records Director when mailing them in, to
indicate that your dogue took BOB w/competition at the show, and the Director will then begin a tabulation of points for your dog for the year.
WHAT DOES MY DOGUE GET IF IT PLACES IN THE NABF TOP TEN?
At the end of the year, all dogues in the Top Ten will get a special award of achievement, signed by the NABF Conformation Records Director.
The dogue finishing out in the # 1 spot will get an extra special award on top of the paper award.
